What is a Master Key Array?
Masterkeying is the ability to use one key to open one or more locks that are not keyed the same. The one key that opens all the others is the Master Key.

One Key, Many Solutions
Masterkeying is convenient for Commercial apartment complexes and residential lock situations. In commercial situations, each renter’s apartment key also opens the main door into the building, but not any other apartments.

Types of Masterkey Systems
- General Main Group
Masterkeying is convenient for Commercial apartment complexes and residential lock situations. In commercial situations, each renter’s apartment key also opens the main door into the building, but not any other apartments.

- Main Key System
The main key stystem is pretty straight forward. It’s when multiple doors all have their own keys, independant of each other and another key, the masterkey that opens all the doors.
Central Lock System with a Technical Masterkey
If you’ve ever lived in an apartment building then this one should be familair to you. This is the type of system where the same key that opens your apartment door also opens a main exit door. A masterkey will open all apartment doors as well as the main exit doors and any engineering rooms.
The Combined Masterkey System
In addition to the mechanical master key system, doors are also protected with an electronic locking system. The mechanical, and also electronic locking system, can only be operated by the user with an ID (combination key).
With the general main group system you have multiple groups all under one main masterkey. For instance group 1 may have 4 doors that all have sperate keys and one masterkey that opens all 4, while group 2 has 5 doors with seperate keys that is also opened by one masterkey. Then there is another masterkey that opens all the doors in both groups.
